Financial difficulty warnings

Our member in Greece, “Unifreight International Forwarding (Unifreight)” is having difficulties in collecting money from his clients due to the financial crises in Greece. “Qatariya Customs Clearance Services” who used to be a CLC member until August 2010 might have gone bankrupt and any member working with them should be very careful. CLC has tried to contact
them but been unable to contact any of their contact numbers we have. If anyone has any information about them, please contact us.

Everyone should also regularly check the black lists of freight forwarders, shippers and consignee’s for delinquent companies: http://www.freightdeadbeats.com/eng/FDB_fwd.php and

Just concluded Logistic event

Our jointly organized event in Ningbo with TFS China and the Ningbo Government was a success with a total of around 250 freight forwarders attending.

The Vice Mayor  Mr. Wang Ren Zhou, who opened the conference in Ningbo has graciously invited us back to hold another conference in June 2012. We shall make announcement about the details later.

We would like to extend the thanks to all the CLC members that attended, especially to our Diamond sponsor Aaras Shipping Agencies. We would also like to give a special thank you to the team from International Logistic Gateway, who helped to make the evenings a lot of fun too.

We apologise to the 20 people or so that could not attend due to visa issues, the regulations in China are becoming more and more difficult and it is necessary to apply very early to ensure that a visa is obtained in time. Anyone that needs visa for our next conference in Macau should start to apply now.

Upcoming Logistics Events

At CLC, we always suggest our members to attend as many event(s) as possible every year in order to strengthen or establish business relationships. It is the one to one meetings that builds long time partnership, without them there is in our opinion little chance to develop business. CLC is organizing following event(s), please click on the event below to register and for further details about event :

Chongqing.png

14th International Freight Forwarders & Logistics Cooperation Forum (Chongqing 2012)

Event Date: Wednesday, 28 March 2012 - Friday, 30 March 2012

Venue: Hotel Hilton Chongqing, China

The reason to have a conference in Chongqing is because it has become a major manufacturing hub, an automotive and motorcycle hub, a new Gateway to Europe with a new train service from Chongqing to Europe with an expected transit time of only 12 days. Chongqing is also China’s largest city with some 32 million people and therefore also a consumer hub as well.

Some of the companies with operation in Chongqing is: Microsoft, Coca Cola, Mazda, Ford, BP, Lafarge, Honeywell, Fiat, Volvo, Ericsson, Honda, Continental, Denso, Wal Mart, Johnson Control, Visteon, Apple, Pepsi, BASF, Danone, NTT Group to mention a few.

Chongqing has huge export to South America and Africa of motor cycle engines and spare parts; therefore we hope that a good number of South American and Africa members will attend. As the world’s major automotive hub, we would also expect freight forwarders handing automotive clients would be interested in attending. Only now many members has indicated they are interested in coming to Chongqing.

Member’s opinion

Due to the difficulties for many overseas members to get visa for China, it has also been suggested by many that we should hold a conference elsewhere in Asia, again if anyone has any suggestions, please let us know. Sonia suggests Bali in Indonesia and also like the idea of Cebu in the Philippines.

CLC Project Division

The China Logistics Club Project Division will be completely re-organized from the 1st July 2011. We will write to all the existing project members and explain the changes.

Message exchange

A GLS protected, CLC member “BEST SERVICES INT'L FREIGHT LTD.” would like to share following message with all the CLC members:

“BSI Group has many good news to share with our partners in CLC network.

We are happy to advise all members and friends that BSI Group invested to buy our own office in Hong Kong. It's estimated to move to the new office around August, 2011. In the meantime, BSI Group has invested to buy 6-floor building office at Shenzhen Airport. All Shenzhen colleagues related to air freight business are moving to Shenzhen Airport Office in early June 2011 soon. The present Shenzhen Corporation Downtown Office will keep for Ocean Freight Center and the group administration center.

In addition, BSI Group in 2011 newly opened Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Zhengzhou own branches. We deem The Year of 2011 as our Year of Expansion.

Thanks for all CLC members and friends support. We will be improving our competitiveness ability of both rate and services in the future.”

Have fun, while networking and expanding your business with CLC. Feel free to provide us your suggestions.

With Best Wishes

Henrik Christensen
