HEADLINES
Upcoming Logistics Events At CLC, we always suggest that our members attend as many events as possible every year in order to strengthen or establish business relationships. At these events, it is the one to one meetings that build long time partnerships. Without these meetings there is, in our opinion, little chance of developingbusiness.
14th International Freight Forwarders & Logistics Cooperation Forum (Chongqing 2012) Event Date: Monday, 25th March 2012 - Wednesday, 28th March 2012 Venue: Hotel Le Meridian Chongqing, Nan’an The reason for having a conference in Chongqing is because it has become a major manufacturing hub, an automotive and motorcycle hub, and a new Gateway to Europe (with a new train service from Chongqing to Europe with an expected transit time of only 12 days). Chongqing is also China’s largest city with a population of some 32 million people, and therefore is a consumer hub as well. Some of the companies with operations in Chongqing are: Microsoft, Coca Cola, Mazda, Ford, BP, Lafarge, Honeywell, Fiat, Volvo, Ericsson, Honda, Continental, Denso, Wal Mart, Johnson Control, Visteon, Apple, Pepsi, BASF, Danone, NTT Group. Chongqing has huge exports of motor cycle engines and spare parts to South America and Africa. Therefore we hope that a good number of South American and Africa members will attend. As Chongqing is the world’s major automotive hub, we would expect freight forwarders handing automotive clients would be interested in attending. Already many members have indicated they are interested in coming to Chongqing.

Air Freight Asia 2013 Event Date: Tuesday 19 March 2013 to Thursday 21 March 2013 |

China’s Chongqing Municipality has announced the opening of new rail route later in the year, aimed at linking Southwest China with ASEAN states. The route of container cargo will use the Yunkunmianyue International Railway, which begins in Chongqing and runs through the provinces of Guizhou and Yunnan, eventually linking China to Vietnam, Myanmar and the Indian Ocean. For more detail please visit at: http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/china/2012-02/03/c_131390687.htm
The rail line connecting Chongqing, Xinjiang to Belarus, Duisburg will be extended by 202 kilometres to Antwerp this year, reports Xinhua. The extended route will shorten shipments from Chongqing to Belgium to 16 days. In addition, according to a customs clearance facilitation agreement signed between China and Belgium, shipments on this route will only be inspected once at the Belgium customs, eliminating the repetition of inspection at customs of other countries, which greatly enhances efficiency.
